Overview

This page records my notes from an evaluation of some software defined radio systems for application to radio astronomy.

The first SDR to be evaluated comprises a USRP1 hardware module together with the public domain software called GNU-Radio.

The USRP module was manufactured and sold by Ettus Research and installed into a rackmount chassis as shown below. This unit was built and kindly supplied (on loan to me for two months) by Berndt Wulf.
